Building Your Buyers List

Building Your Buyers List

I know that I possibly read about this in Deans book("profit from real estate now") but may have let it slip my mind. Well I know if it slipped my mind, then it has probably slipped countless other newbies minds as well. We all quite possibly have a surefire buyer right under our noses...Where? There! Your landlord! He/she is a buyer and so are their homeowner buddies. Well there you go! Get your lists built up.

Maximilionalpha,

Great idea and great tip. You are on to something here about your landlord maybe being a future potential buyer. Also, the "For Rent" signs you see around town are other landlords and maybe even other potential buyers? Good luck with REI. Believe and Achieve! Smiling - Joe

Yeah, it cam to me today when i was talking over the phone with my landlord and told him what I was doing now. Well his question to me was,"Do you have any apartment buildings?" Right then I told him that I was adding him to my buyers list and he said sure.

Buyer's list

Isn't it funny how we can sometimes look everywhere else for the prize and don't realize the gift is right there in front of us? I agree home for rent signs are a red flag that says INVESTOR! Thanks for the comment. Continued success........Lubertha

classified section of DG site

Hello all,
I was listening to the conference call last night and heard Dean's suggestion of another student's idea of marketing to landlords. I placed 3 ads last night immediately after that and plan on calling "for rent signs" as well. My question is this: When you place a classified ad on the DG site, where do you find your "hits"? Do you see answers in your e-mail from the "private message" or is there some flag for you on this site?
Thanks. Cont'd growth and success to all- Kara

If anyone has sent you a private message then whenever you log-in to your account you'll see that you have a new message alert at the top of your log-in page.

emailing landlords

I'm thinking of emailing landlords that i find on craigslist and any other website that lists available rentals in my area. ive tried just posting on craigslist myself a couple times to advertise to find investors to build my buyers list, but i've gotten next to nothing in return. does anyone have any ideas of how best to hook landlords into the idea of the potential of working with you in an initial email to get them to contact you?

2nd chance ads/signs

Don't forget to call on these signs 2nd Chance Home ads or signs if there are any in your area. I email one other day who's renovating a house in my own n'hood to see if he/she use extra set of eyes help spot potential deals for him/her in future.

property management companies

My friend suggested - good suggestion too Heather! Give your contact info to property management companies to share with their clients. That's a two-for one special for you and the PM company ... multiple clients could contact you and you add them to your buyers list - which provides the potential that the PM company will end up with more properties to manage and/or the property management company itself may be a group of investors who would also be interested in what you can bring to them. Happy hunting !

Atlcamel,
I have never seen or heard of signs that say "2nd Chance Home" what exactly is that?
