Thank you for doing another weekly wisdom for us. It is so true often we need to just do it in life and not let anything hold us back. Never say "but" or "because" we should focus more on the "believe" or "belief"! It comes down to how bad do we really want it. Doing what others won't do and then in turn being able to do things we only dreamed about doing. We wish you continued success in all you do! Go make it a great day by making every day count! Believe and Achieve! Smiling - Joe and Stacey

Hi Dean,
Another great weekly wisdom for us. thank you for sharing such a personal story with us. I know I can relate having family with the same issues. It brings it somewhat close to home for me as well. Just a little encouragement goes a long ways, so thanks again for sharing. Have a great week.

Truly Inspirational

Dean, I remember being in slow reading classes in the 6th grade. It was horrible, I was embarrassed almost ashamed when I was younger, cause I felt like there was something wrong with me. I felt so much as a loser. My parents were good people and didn't know how to help because as many families of the 70's my parents dwelt on the negative. I had the privilege of meeting several different people who were in Amway and allowed me to read and listen to the uplifting material which helped give me hope to overcome much of the negative. I also read, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, Books by Dale Carnegie, Zig Ziglar which helped me even more. Those materials which I read and listened to taught me how to dream and dream big. At the age of 52, I'm learning to dream again and thank God I have found a wonderful DG Student and now my mentor.

Thank you for sharing your personal story. It helps people like me overcome life's obstacles.
Thanks for all you do.

You're awesome...

I love your positive attitude. It's contagious.... I appreciate you sharing another great weekly wisdom..

You are truly blessed and you are my hero.

One of my biggest "WHY" which makes me cry is to retire my parents and buy them a house in south florida.

God bless you and have a great week ahead to you and all my DG family

Hey Dean

Your amazing and I thank you for doing this video. I really do not know what is holding me back. Perhaps my age…feeling I can never get rich because these things take time and energy and I am feeling like I wont will be able to enjoy wealth since my days are getting numbered…In my 60's and feel washed up.
I get the high when I hear your video's or go to the buying summit..but doing all this alone and no support at home makes me fail. Very disappointed in myself. I have a lot of the issues you had growing up. Can't seem to beat it out of me and proof to people that I am worth listening to.

In a slump in N.J.

Amazing post - thank you!

Dean - thanks for the amazing post. I'm a gal with ADD and I've tried to use that to my advantage rather than a disadvantage, but it certainly has been a "head game" over the years. I've always felt like a misfit, never fitting in, never having friends whose brains acted like mine. I looked up the David and Goliath book to read what it's about and then I immediately logged on to our public library website and put it on hold. I'm picking it up THIS MORNING the minute the library opens at 9. It's 6:30 in the morning and I'm up watching your videos and working on the real estate business.

Thank you for being a mentor that many of us can -relate- to. You give all of us hope that we, too can overcome the giants in our lives.

gees Dean I was like that in school but not as bad!

zzrollthembonezz's picture

That reading in class was a low point. I never skiped a class cuz I knew my mom was always home & she would be on me. then my dad when he got home so I went to school & every class every day from K - 12 & graduated on time class of 77 (I was 19). only got held back once in K. when it came for me to read or do math problems in front of the class I felt like I'd die right on the spot (I was reading at beginners level in the 6th grade & my math wasn't much better) but did the best that I could when the time came. there is nothing else a person can do but do what he knows or skip out. that's why everyone on this site is here to be enlightened by what has worked & not skip out of life or have life skip over us. every time I think of doing something with my life I think of what you have said of where you really came from: gees from living in an abandon car on the streets within a broken family not once but 4 times to the mother load of today's life style. I keep thinking how will I end up? in the abandon car or the mother load of life styles or somewhere in-between? no one really knows until your there.

Weekly wisdom

Dean you told my story. As I listened to you I though man I can do this! I feel that my fear is the paper work that goes with it. I know many would say that the easy part. But for me that is my hang up. But with your weekly wisdom and me talking and praying for courage. I will get passed it. Thank you for your words, and may you continue to be blessed.

Weekly Wisdom - But...Because

Mr. G.

Yet again you hit home for me as I'm sure with many here who listen / watch that you inspire. I'm her because I want better and yes do use those crutches and fall backs. I will do something, today to take at least one step towards my future, one thing.

Next time you or one of your great teachers /students fly into my town, I ask that instead of sitting in that hotel room, consider to give some locals (ie me) a call for some onsite instruction / guidance. I would really like someone I could mentor under, someone to call and work with to get on the right path. I want to but those "but and because" answers aside and get out of my own way.

So simple!

Just make a decision which gives us the direction we want to go and then make it happen. Identify the obstacles and work on solutions. We appreciate the things more that we have worked for. The things acquired easily aren't always as meaningful.

We are so much alike

AndyS's picture

Thanks Dean for another great piece of wisdom.

As my title implies, we are very much alike. Unfortunately, I wasn't diagnosed with Dyslexia until I was finished with high school and my lack of a love for reading was firmly entrenched. I still dislike reading even tho I try hard not to. ( I have read all your books tho Eye-wink ) But I too could (and still can) look at something or someone doing something and I can/could duplicate it within days. I now can do construction, plumbing, some electrical, concrete work, woodwork and more, just by observation, not book training. My "hands on" training even got me job offers in fields that my school training didn't.
Bottom line: Anything is possible if you want it bad enough. No excuses allowed!

Thanks again for being a leader to follow and an inspiration for us all.

Till next week....

Audio verison?

Hey Dean,
Is it possible I could get an audio version of your latest book, "30 Days to Real Estate Cash etc.". I have a handicap and it makes it very hard for me to read much. If there is a version like that, I would truly love to get a hold of it. I too appreciate all the inspiration you give us in your Weekly Wisdom video's.

Thanks for all your help!
Ash

So Simple

I certainly can relate to all of this and could add a whole lot more, but, I have reached a turning point and I want to thank you, Dean, and everyone else on this site. You are all so uplifting and encouraging! I'm in days 1-5 of "30 Days to Real Estate Cash" and I see myself as a different person after every few steps. I'm doing things now that only a short time ago I wondered if I really could or maybe I should say "would." I know that I am truly blessed to have all of this knowledge and support available to me. Thank you.

Wendy
