Rina, hey it’s Kim from the 2012Edge Contest. Wow, I just wanted to say congratulations to the winners of the contest. I’m sure it wasn’t easy finding a winner I’m just glad it was you deciding and not me.

By the way, don’t be a stranger I for one want to begin again by surrounding myself with individuals with similar goals and ambitions. For one we all want to succeed. And just so you know if for some reason I’m not there at this year’s EDGE I will be there with bells on next year. You have my word on that.

Also, I just read your profile on DeanGraziosi.com and I plan to do just that start a REI Journal as soon as I can. Furthermore, if you have any other suggestions I would love to hear from you. I want to make my presence known to this community that I’m back and nothing is going to stand in my way starting NOW! It’s time to put the past behind me and start over. I do want to say thank you for all the time and energy you have given for this cause. I know it was very time comsuming, but very much appreciated. I was serious when I offered to stay involved and assist with this event.
A big THANKYOU to the evaluators!!!!!! What a hard job! It was so nice to speak to Julie and Tammy I am honored to be #3. What an honor!
Writing the essay was a great exercises for me. It helped me to remember the "7 layers deep" exercise and why I am doing what I am doing. Thank you all for you continued support.

Thank you for the kind words to all of us, even if we didn't make the top ten. Still curious as to how many essays you had total to evaluate. (I admit to a certain amount of trying to gain perspective. If I was #11 out of 11 total, then clearly, my writing needs work! If I was #whatever out of 200, I don't feel so stupid...)

Either way, I'm glad I submitted the essay, if only because putting my own thoughts on paper/screen helps to make them clear, and more REAL to me.

Don't care if me and the dog have to hitchhike, I'll get there! (C'Mon Mozzy, You don't mind a thousand mile trek, do you?)

You did really well. You were close to making it to the top 10. There were enough entries that making it to the top 10 was significant. We did NOT grade on writing skills, grammar or spelling. It wasn't a contest for that at all. In fact, some of the entries would make some English teachers upset, but we did not use that as an important factor. This was a contest on being a REI, not an English major.

Congrats Courtney!! You will be amazed at what you are about to learn. Take lots of notes and enjoy meeting all the great people that attend. Take your new RE knowledge home and hit the pavement and take action!!

I want to thank all the judges for handling such a difficult task as the one you volunteered to undertake. Yes it is very disappointing to not win, but it was an incredible journey. The effort that everyone put in towards this goal took time, deligence, and a desire to acheive the goal of going to the Edge 2012. Applaud youselves one and all. I look forward to going next year as a goal I plan to reach. In the mean time, I will be moving forward with my mentor and friend, to achieve success in my new life direction.

And I believe I've given the wrong impression when I say that I need to "Work on my writing skills" ... It's not punctuation or grammar or anything like that, that I'm referring to. What I mean is working on conveying the intensity of my passion to make this WORK and live my life, rather than being a wage-zombie. Does that make sense?

Anyway, it's a bit of a moot point now, so - Not a failure, a learning experience, and moving forward!

I want to tell you that ALL of you did very well. Every one of you are winners. There are thousands of people on this site, and under 40 of you even ENTERED. That shows that you will do whatever it takes to succeed and you aren't afraid to get out there and try your best to assure you succeed at this. You are the ones that are willing to go the extra mile and go to great lengths and efforts to succeed at this.

There is a GREAT book to read. Actually 2. If you haven't read Dean's TOTALLY FULFULLED, I encourage you to read it!! This is a book often overlooked as from the outside it seems that it has nothing to do about real estate, but in reality it has to do with preparing yourself for succes in real estate k, or anything else you endeavor to do in life. It is a really wonderful book, and it should be a MUST on your reading list for success.

Of course there is Think and Grow Rich, but, Napoleon Hill wrote several books; one of which is Success through a Positive Mental Attitude. In this book, it is explained how to have inspirational dissatisfaction. You can turn this around into a positive thing just like Jen did and gain and Edge in a different way. Inspirational dissatisfaction is used to take an undesirable situation and turn it into several positive things you can do to create an amazing outcome. You are ALL winners, but what you do with this outcome can be an awesome opportunity to practice inspirational dissatisfaction.

Thank you for the reminder to those who haven't sent in their donations yet. I want to share this thread I posted a long time ago with all the contestants. It takes a lot of gumption to enter a contest; because you always know that there will be many more people that will not get the grand prize than will. You overcame the fear of failure and submitted an essay anyways! I can't stress how that is so far ahead of the game. Take a look at this thread and watch the link to be really inspired!

That is top secret! At this rate, with me getting 3-4 hours sleep every night, my metabolism is NOT responding to anything. And I have this fierce addiction to chocolate. It was supposed to be dinner. (Hope you don't mind going with the kids ) I've still lost NO weight. So even if you just lose 1 lb at this point, you'll win. But, I do love to karaoke, although most people would be covering their ears and running away if they heard me sing.
