Networking PAYS - I called a few REI, that's right on Thanksgiving day- and NEEDED a place for this family.
Finally Got one!! EVEN on THANKSGIVING day.
Now we need trucks to move belongngs etc, Uhaul is closed.
Got a few trucks together, moved everything and got them settled in.
We chipped in and went to Walmart, got food, stuff they needed to get comfortable.
I have a storage unit with furniture, tv's, microwaves etc that I get for free and GIVE back to ppl in NEED, so we made a load to HELP.
The feeling of HELPING needing ppl outweighed the missing my family on ThanksGIVING day.
Networking and gathering free stuff allowed me to get this Family out of the Cold/snow.

My best friend was homeless for five years with three little kids. Now years later, she has passion for and does a lot of things to help homeless people. For years I have been able to help her reach out in various ways with this passion. Thanks for making it possible for a homeless family to be "home for the holidays." You really gave back in a very meaningful way. Thank you.

Love it very generous of you & everyone else who helped someone in need yesterday & going forward. So much need out there, there go we but for the grace of God. Our Church also fed the homeless & I must say it's 2yrs now that I have helped too & it has been the most rewarding.
It makes you so grateful for what we have & we have soooo much & others have nothing, they are shot, their bodies are, their minds perhaps they are addicted & lost & they need a helping hand not to be written off, we never know it could be us one day, boom a disaster happens & we have no home now we are homeless & need help.
Thanks to God for all we have & I thank Him for all of you! Thanks.

Think about THIS;
WE HELPED ppl and a REI landlord.
Without NETWORKING, this would NOT have Happened.
How much did 'WE' make??.... NOTHING!
Matter of fact, it COST our time and about $600
= Priceless
BUT, HELPED ppl who NEEDED help.
WE gave business cards to them to pass out to their friends and others in NEED.
I'LL BET they say ... "CALL THEM!" ... you can't believe WHAT they did for US.
SUMMARY: = HELPING PEOPLE Pays and IT'S the RIGHT thing to do.
USE your knowledge and BE Creative to HELP.

BTW the Father is skilled in construction as we ALL have work lined up for him.

You're a man after my own heart. I also believe it's not ALL ABOUT $$$$$$$$ I help those I can and try to get help for those I can't. How much I get paid for the effort doesn't factor into the equation.
You should be proud of what you accomplished for that family. Especially on the day we are to give thanks. Keep up the good work.

I found this to be very inspiring and it triggered some good ideas in my mind.
Your actions were like paying it forward and like Zig use to say, "help enough other people to get what they want and you get what you want". I do believe that as believers our mission on earth is to serve others. Most important -- we should never pass judgment on anyone. Looking at someone who is down and out in hardship and thinking that they could not get you a deal is wrong. We need to find out what their story is, who they know, etc. Everyone has something important inside of them.
Its really awesome to hear what you did for a family in need on thanksgiving. I bet your family understood and supported you on missing Thanksgiving.
