Hi everyone!
For the last week I've been watching blogs, reading forums and any information I come across about RE investing. I'm so excited that I got my books from Dean yesterday! I watched the introductory DVD and started reading last night.
I've been around so many negative people for the last few years that I'm scared to try anything new, let alone re investing. But, deep down inside I know that here and now is the right place to be. Dean is a very knowledgeable person and a great influence to many around the country. The proof is right here on the site. I think this is a wonderful compliment to any person's character.
I have many goals to reach in this new year and limited time away from the negatives to focus on them. With all the sharing of knowledge from Dean and everyone here on the DG website, I know that 2010 will be a great year!
Here's to a blessed new year for everyone! Wish me luck!

Today went fairly well. I've been reading Dean's books for the last couple days. I can't seem to put them down. I'm also forcing myself to read them from cover to cover and not jump ahead. There's so much information it's hard to take it all in at once.
I've been trying to make sure and do something RE related each and everyday, even if it's just reading for sale ads in the paper or reading articles or the books. I also did some online reading and searching.
I've noticed a property during my daily errands and it looked vacant for some time. I was online reading about HUD homes and there it was. I've been driving by this home and noticing it for about a month now. There's a bidding deadline of 1-18-10. I also looked up local HUD approved RE agents and started making a list of questions I wanted to ask about this home and others in general. I'm so nervous. I don't want to sound stupid or naive'.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I just called and left a message for the re agent about the property I found. It's a 2br/1b foreclosure on 4 acres land listed for 35,000. The tax value was 86,100 in 2008 and it last sold for 72,500 in September 2006. I don't even know if I can get a loan and I haven't found any buyers yet! The roller coaster ride begins!

Hey Jeannie,
Here's wishing you the best with your investing career! First off, kudos on dedicating yourself to doing something r.e. related every day. When I saw your first post on the 12th about having limited time, I was going to say that you should commit yourself to ALWAYS doing SOMETHING every day. Also, have you worked on findiing a real estate agent to work with yet?

I talked to the re agent about what I was doing and the property I had in mind.
I hate negativity! I also don't like the fact that she wasn't really willing to talk to me about the property even though she did say it was a great deal. I tried to ask questions to get the answers I wanted but basically got shut down. That was discouraging.

All the things needed to have a fun and great adventure into this wonderful world of Real Estate. Also PLEASE continue to reachout and ask questions most of if not all of the anwsers are on this site.

Today was a good day in terms of my mindset. I've still been reading Be A Real Estate Millionaire and Profit From Real Estate Right Now. While I was driving around the other day I noticed a building that I've been familiar with for many years had a sign on it Rent to Own. This is an apartment building with 3-4 units (I'm not exactly sure of that number). I'm going to call the number tomorrow and find out the details. I also learned about a house nearby from my ex-husband, of all people! He rents from the lady who owns the property and she's looking to move it. I know she hasn't persued any type of rental, lease or sale options on the property yet and she lives out of town. It just so happens that she's going to be in town all this week. I'm going to ask to view the property and talk to her about a lease option. I'm just unsure of the paperwork involved.
Who was the gentleman that submitted a video about the lease option where he put the property under contract then leased to own to someone else and used their monies for the renovating and down payment? I'm so bad with names!
Wish me luck!

I think Greg Murphy is the one you're thinking of, Jeannie!
