AFTER A LITTLE READING I DECIDED TO START A JOURNAL OF MY OWN. PLUS IT MAY HELP TO MOTIVATE ME TO TAKE THAT NEXT STEP.
BORN AND RAISED IN TX. HAVE ALWAYS HAD A JOB. LONG AGO I HAD A SUPERVISOR WHO TOLD ME TO GO OUT AND BUY SOME LAND. (I GUESS I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED BACK THEN). I HAVE ALWAYS WORKED PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK, NO MATTER HOW MUCH MONEY I WAS MAKING IT WAS NEVER ENOUGH TO GET AHEAD. A FEW YEARS BACK I THOUGHT ABOUT GETTING INTO REAL ESTATE, BUT DID NOT KNOW WHERE TO START. THINGS STARTED TO GO DOWNHILL FOR ME MY FAMILY AROUND DECEMBER 20TH 2007. THE REASON THAT I CAN REMEMBER IT SO WELL IS BECAUSE THAT IS WHEN I HAD A STROKE AT THE TENDER AGE OF 39. REMEMBER I AM STILL LIVING PAY CHECK TO PAY CHECK, SO I RUSHED MY THERAPY IN FACT I DID NOT FINISH, JUST SO I COULD GET BACK TO WORK. WAS TERMINATED IN JULY OF 08. FOUND A JOB A MONTH LATER, LAID OFF IN JANUARY 09. FOUND ANOTHER JOB LAID OFF AGAIN JUNE 09. BUT BEFORE ALL OF THIS HAPPENED I HAD BEEN SEEING THE INFO-MERCIAL BY DEAN AND KEPT SAYING THAT I WAS GOING TO GET THAT BOOK. GOD WORKS IN WAYS THAT ARE NOT FOR US TO UNDERSTAND HE KNEW THAT I WOULD JUST KEEP PUTTING OFF BUYING THIS GREAT BOOK UNLESS HE TOOK ALL THE DESTRACTIONG AWAY. I FINISHED THE BOOK ONCE AND AM READING IT AGAIN. HAVE FOUND SOME FSBO. BUT I FEEL LIKE A DEER IN HEADLIGHTS NOW. NOTHING STOPPING ME BUT ME. HOW DO YOU GET OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY?

You can get out of your own way by instigating the changes you want to make in your life. For most people in this starting position, they can see clearly that a continued way of doing things their way will only amount to the same results. You have to make changes, you have to live it everyday. You can't wake up one morning and want to get into real estate, then experience some bumps and stop cold turkey. You've got to go full throttle at this goal. The beauty of real estate is just a few successful deals can really get you going where you wanna go.
But I fully believe you can be whatever you want to be and make the changes you need to make.

Stop being hesitant and get out there and submit a offer and/or a few offers. You're not going to know whether you're going to get a YES or a NO until you Just Do It. Even if they reject your offer(s); there is still plenty out there to bid on and you can bet these Owners/Lenders are hungry to get their debts paid and other obligations taken care of and Investors to get their hands on really great deals. Keep those offers (properties) that are rejected on your radar but don't attach any emotional string to them. Look at this way; some kites you will control of, others will get away from you and some just won't fly no matter how hard you try. God Bless in your REI endeavors.
