OfflineHi you all, I wanted to say hi and thanks for all your support and want to be successful like you guys. Right now I am very limited in this business because you have to network with phones and also dealing with customers and I can't do that. I am moving up the next step to improve my lifestyle. Hopefully, after the surgery I will be able to talk on the phones like you guys and do savvy business like you all are running now. I am so happy for you all and very excited for you. I can't wait for my day to come and be up there with you guys and be in Dean's life success story and tell them I was a deaf man and now I can hear.
I have to meet with the surgeon next Thursday on the 25th at New York University Hospital and see what they can do for me. Wish me well and I will keep it posted with my progress!! Best of luck !!

Just curious where you born deaf or became hard of hearing later in life? Either way congratulations for taking action like starting your journal. As I write I think of you and other DG members that are going through dificult times. For some they lost family member ex, Anita and Lubertha other have surgery like yourself and someone is geting internal reconstruction done. You all earn my admiration an respect because it takes even more dedication, perseverance, and will to continue.
Stop thinking just DO IT!
You are an inspiration to others by taking action and doing what ever it takes for success. Please keep us updated on your progress. Best wishes and good luck with your real estate investing. Believe and Achieve!

Thanks for all your support and yes I was born deaf. I do read lips very well and speak like a hearing person and u would never know I am deaf. So i need to better myself so I can listen to the calls from Dean and also answer telephones. I wish you guys best of luck

Thanks for your support and right now I can't do much because this business requires phones. Hopefully the surgery will work out and I will be able to do the phones and other multi tasking. I am planning on becoming a full time investor and do every angle in this business. I learned so much and actully I could do it but you need to do phones with clients. I will be looking forward hearing from you again.

I basically drove around see if i can find FSBO and wrote down some addresses so I can get more information on it. Wish the rain would stop and its been raining everyday since spring came. Havent seen any sunshine yet ! LOL maybe five days so far. I will be looking in the Sunday's paper and see what's out there. Thursday I will be going to Manhattan to see the surgeons. Hope it will go well. I will let you all know how I make out. Cant wait to get on the phones again.

Still raining here and also haven't been working for the last few days and the business been slow and been trying to catch up with the REI business. Hopefully, I will find some potentials this week before I go to the city on Thursday for the day to meet with the surgeons. Hope this will be a new world for me when I can hear like you guys.

Another day just went by and been doing lots of research and I am doing this all alone and no support around where I live. I just emailed Megan and see what she has to say. Two more days before I go to the city to see the surgeon.

I'm also having trouble in this area. It isnt' easy, but it can be done. I have a profound hearing impairment...deaf in my left ear. 90% loss in right. I've considered cochlear but I have 3 little ones and cant afford the time for all the post surgery stuff that follow. But you can still do things in this business. You have to stop putting yourself in the "I cant't" category. Thing of ways you can. Do you have a fax machine? email? text? If you explain to people that you cant hear on the phone and NEED to comunicate by email they'll accomodate you. If you cant, and must use the phone use RELAY. I remember you posting something about that. Have you looked into CapTel? It's basically captioning for phones.
As for Dean's call conference and blogs...Do you have anyone hearing in your life.., spouse, sig. other, children, parents friends., etc, that can "translate" for you? Take notes and whatnot. I had to have my hubby listen for me on the call. As for the blogs...i usually don't usually have a problem lip reading. if i pause it first and let it download then watch. This last blitz blog was hard. I've had to play it like 3 times then give in and have my sister listen for me. my hubby is not supportive of this stuff. So i'm also alone in my ventures, save for this site and the friends i've made here.
Sorry for the book. Just want to let you know you are not alone. Being a REI is tough enough. Being deaf on top of it just adds to the challenge. Just keep P.U.S.H.-ING

Thanks for your time. Yes I do have an email and also text cell phone. Basically, what I was trying to say if you have an ads, flyers or a sign by the road with the phone number and people are calling you. That's my problem and I am all alone and no one wants to help me with the phones etc. You take care of you phones for your business. Who answered your agncy phones ? My internet is not strong enough to watch videos and when it does play it goes for a few second and it freezes and starts all over again. I did have the VP video phone here but its not working very well in NY. It did worked very well at my other home in Pensacola, Fl. I am in ny for a while but Florida is my home though.
Hopefully, someday you will have your Cochlear done and there will be many open doors opportunities for you in the future. I can't wait to get my done and move on with my life and be a savvy business man.

What a long day in the city and I had to meet the surgeon and he was very nice and they want me to have the surgery on September 16th. I said I wasn't sure if I want to do it around that time because it's my birthday week. They said it will make a big difference once they get this done and change my life around. I also visited to the newest park in nyc and it was awesome and it is called the skyline park. You will see all kinds of trees, plants and flowers growing up there. The park run on 3 stories level along the west side. It was a nice walk. Today I am so tired from doing all the walk in the city and I am a real tight wad and would never pay additional money to the cabs. I need to get out and drive around and see what available in my area so I can get something done. I need to make a deal soon because I need some addtional monies for the surgery. I hope you all have the greatest day as ever !!
