Personality Profiling

Personality Profiling

Real estate is about the relationships you build, and you are going to encounter a lot of different personalities. Sometimes you wonder why you can't communicate with certain people or why some people act that way they do. Isn’t it difficult to get your points across to someone who has no clue? At least you think they have no clue, but the truth is they don’t understand you. You need to learn how to talk to people, exactly how they are talking to you. Basically match there tone, speed and speech. Seasoned investors have strong, stubborn, direct personalities. Don’t let them make you feel like you aren’t important because they do need you. All you have to do is get your point across to them to make them understand what you can do for them and how you can help their business. Learn how people want to be sold.

You need to start understanding how to effectively communicate with many different personalities. The best way is to study people. There are a lot of types of programs out there that try to identify these personalities. I personally like the D.I.S.C Method, you can research it at http://www.onlinediscprofile.com/ I encourage all of you to go out and do a google search for "personality profiling" and find a method/program that works for you and is easy for you to understand. Once you become great at communicating with people, you will find how easy it is to get what you want.

Great point

Shah,

you are so right! I have encountered seasoned investors, and they do have strong personalities; I've also noticed that the more I learn and the more rei experience I gain, the more confident and at ease I feel when talking to them.

I will check out the programs on personalities-one can never learn too much...

Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us,

Learning and progressing every day,
Valerie

Yes

The important thing is to complement people, not clash with them. To be understanding yet firm when necessary.

Ditto that RENinja

Do the best you can. Take Shah's advice and learn more about different personalities but remember to not force it. It's not if but when you encounter personalities that regardless of what you do, you will not mesh with that person. You cannot do business or be friends with everyone. With those people, cut them loose because if they are not an asset to your business, they can definitely do damage to your business and your efforts. Use your best judgement, learn and be selective - this is YOUR business!

good luck!
