Is this the real deal?

Is this the real deal?

I am so excited but skeptical after reading the books. Was wondering peoples opinions on the success academy, has anyone failed with this?

A better question would be WHO HAS SUCCEEDED at the academy!!! Anyone can tell u how to fail......I want to know how someone succeeded because that is why u r reading the books.....correct?? And congratulations for taking action and reading them. I can tell u with 100% surety ....this is the real deal and dean is the real deal....along with all the dgers here on site.we want YOU to succeed to so that's why I would say ask WHO HAS SUCCEEDED AT THE ACADEMY and then learn HOW and why they did what they did.I would suggest modeling THEM. Not the ones who failed.develop YOU first by learning how to THINK like a successful investor first then hu will DO what they do! ! Good luck sarah:)

im just nervous because i

im just nervous because i know absolutely nothing about real estate, actually im in the healthcare field. I just feel overwhelmed by all of the information and dont know where to begin even though I read two of the books. The only thing I know is I like the idea of the IEE or the assignment deal. My husband is a handyman so maybe eventually we could buy fix and flip but I want to start low risk first.

sarah

Sir sure....u get information overload and I understand.....so I would suggest staying on this site and read, read and study here and deans books again.Be patient.....its easy to get excited and want to do EVERYTHING all at once.just keep reading journals, posts and contributing in any way on here.you will eventually learn more and more each day.....most of all know u CAN do it because it does work! !
To your success

Just the theought of trying

Just the theought of trying to build my A-team scares me, who is going to listen to a 26 year old who has never invested in real estate?

Getting started

1) People might be able to guess an age range over the phone...
2) People that want to earn money should be willing to give you a chance.

Try to find a local Real Estate Investors Group in your area. If you can find a group in your area, see who they use. The A-team member might give you a group discount. In addition, you don't need to have a complete team in place before you get started - add them in as needed. This will also depend on what type of strategy you would like to focus on to get started. Pick one or two and go from there.

got to try

everyone started at some point. some people didn't start in real estate until much later don't let that stop you. I have experience in real estate in the retail sense buy hold flip rent. but that doesn't matter much because the strategy of real estate your getting into is different. not that prev real estate experience wont help but it doesn't matter because this wholesaling strategy means experienced people have to learn all over again. I'm still waiting on my first wholesale deal but The first thing you should do is read the book profit from real estate or listen I prefer the audio book version. after that its actually very simple. the most easy way to start is buy having bandit signs made and put them up or put an ad on craigslist for someone else to put them out.the people who will call you will be motivated sellers. these type of deals are very basic because there is no Realtor or serious paperwork that needs handled. I love this dg site but you tube videos are great flip this wholesaler's videos and website are the best and she'll teach you much like walking you through filling out contracts. and other strategies. i wanted to join the success team they are great at what they do I just couldn't afford it at the time so I had to self educate. reading posts and watching videos to get a grasp of the whole picture. As far as finding buyers there was a post on here the other day about going to google maps.com and type in we buy houses and your city and state and you'll find buyers there. As far as an agent If you want one put an ad on craigslist with a shortened version of the Matt Larson letter and they'll come to you and they are a wealth of info. I'm still learning but i was were you were a couple months ago now I have a buyers list a website bandit signs up a Realtor a investor friendly title company an attorney who does closings and if you have a smart phone I used an app call toktumi line 2 its a business phone line you can setup a voice maill for and access messages and options right though your phone 9.99 a month pretty decent. and I'm submitting my fist wholesale offer this week. If you have any questions Pm me ill try to answer them. You can do it but remember with the success team or by your self you have to self motivate yourself because nobody cares if you fail but you. I just think about being my own boss and the freedom that comes with it hey I had a hard time motivating myself at first but I realized I can wake up and work 12hrs on a construction job but wont put a couple hours of learning a day into my life and I eventually did. Wish you all the best and if you want your name on the side of a building one day you gotta go hard!

Thank yo so much for your

Thank yo so much for your response! That really encouraged me! Iwork 12 hour shift myself. Im not saying I am broke but my husband and I just had our first child and I feel like we live paycheck to paycheck I want to LIVE my life and not work it away. My father is 54 years old and worked 2 jobs when i was growing up just to make ends meet, now that we are all grown up and on our own he should be close to retiring but instead he is dying of cancer that was diagnosed in march 2010, basically I dont want to spend my life working and worrying about money because you never know what will happen. How did you go about starting out? I like the assignment deal because it requires no money down I too cant afford the academy but want to succeed just very afraid to loose money, how did you find a reputable lawyer? did you fing a mortgage broker for your buyers??

Sarah

They will listen to a 26 year old that has the BURNING DESIRE to succeed in this business. The 26 year old that studies hard and takes the time to learn her business BEFORE she builds her team. She will attend local REAL Estate Investments clubs, network, go out and look at properties, learn how to estimate repair/remodel costs.
I am a Success Academy graduate, got my full refund for doing 5 deals in the first 12 months. I highly recommend them, there is no bettor training in the industry! It won't make you an investor, you have to take what they teach and put it into action in your own market.
You will find far more failure stories than success stories in any endeavor you chose to pursue! Why? Most people don't have that BURNING DESIRE. They wish it will happen, they think it would be great, they put a little effort in, see no results and give up. To succeed you must not let anything stand in your way, you are going to take every failure as a learning experience that puts you one step closer to your goal. The one you have the BURNING DESIRE to attain. Not fear, not lack of knowledge, NOTHING WILL STOP YOU!! Then you WILL succeed.

Can you tell me a little bit about the success academy? I have been hesitant to call them. Do you feel you could have been successful without their guidance?

also the websote md home

also the websote md home aquisitions, why do you use that

Sarah

When I started I had No knowledge of real estate investing. Using the success academy really put me on the fast tract with out a doubt. Could I have done it with out them? Maybe, but it would have taken much much longer to get where I am today, much longer!

I use my websites for marketing purposes. When I get a property under contract I blast them out to my buyers if my core cash buyers don't take them first. (they usually do) NOTHING replaces face to face networking with real people however. I do not depend on these websites of mine to build my business. They are one of many marketing tools. I could do business without them all together! Most HIGH dollar investors that are active don't have websites. With my real cash buyers, I communicate to them face to face or by phone. (imagine that!)

Sarah,

I bought my first house when I was 24. I had 4 houses by the time I was 27. It's worked out for me; it can work out for you.

Fun

"Just the theought of trying to build my A-team scares me,"
...last I checked, i haven't heard of anyone going to jail for trying to build an A team

"who is going to listen to a 26 year old who has never invested in real estate?"
An investor who is looking for a good deal.

As far as if it's the real deal, here's a link to investor clubs in MA. Go to a couple of meetings and you will meet people who are doing it every day. Don't feel intimitated, there are many people there who will help you. It's also a great place to meet people in the industry for your A team. I can understand your element of fear. It's human nature to fear things we don't understand. But if you will just take action with that first step and continue to put one foot in front of the other, you'll be in for some good times. As a friend of mine says, "I'm just in real estate for fun. It's more fun when I'm making money."

http://www.creonline.com/real-estate-clubs/ma.html

Being an RN, I'm sure at one time in your life you had never taken anyone's temperature...now look what you've accomplished. Point is, you gotta start somewhere

I am a coach

Sarah, many people come through the program. Many succeed and some fail. The people who follow the program and get some guidance generally do very well, because they have an experienced investor to tell them how to get around or through roadblocks and problems. Just like Michael said, anyone could do it without the academy, but having the support and information really puts people on the fast track.

Plus, having a variety of coaches at your disposal to get different opinions on how to do things can be very valuable. I would suggest that by going through the program, you will get ideas and motivation that will accelerate your learning to more than compensate you for the money you put into the program.

As with anything, check it out. It never hurts to learn about what it is all about and feel free to make your own decision after talking to someone about it!

Sarah

It's taken me 2 years of overcoming fear and lack of knowledge. The success academy is the real deal, Insider's Edge is the real deal and this entire forum that Dean and his team have created so that all of us can network, grow and learn about real estate and how we can all benefit from it. I'm telling you that the best thing you can do is TAKE ACTION!!! As Dean says, "Be a Doer!". If you're unsure of what you need to do, get on DG.com and ask away. That's what its here for. If you'd like to start out with baby steps, here's what I would do if I were you. Read ALL of Dean's Books. I would also recommend his "Think a Little Differently" Packet. It's inexpensive and loaded with info and action steps. More importantly be patient with yourself and have fun. Real Estate is a game, just a game. Have Fun. We are all here to help. I am getting my education even as we speak and this is really the first time in my life that I've been encouraged to step out on faith and APPLY the knowledge that I'm learning from Dean and all the mentors and members of the DG family. Best wishes to you adn I look forward to hearing about your journey in real estate.
