We are in central Michigan, not far from Lansing. PM some contact info and we can start talking.
I invested in a 2 BR fixer in Flint MI off Ebay. Cost? $1955. Of course it's in a depressed area well north of downtown. On this block I have met some fantastic people. The woman next door is having her home taken back by The Landbank. It needs extensive rehab as the roof in the BR and bath are falling in, but she wants to stay since she's been there for 17 yrs. She recently went into the hospital for open heart surgery. I am negotiating with the bank to take over her property and lease it from me for a payment that she is comfortable with. The bank isn't going to want this house as it will cost them more for them to demolish it or do the repairs.
I also talked to a man across the street that has offered to buy my property as a starter home for his son. He has construction experience and with the lack of jobs in the area, he can use Craigslist to bring in handy men. I told him that he is in a great position to set his own economy on that block and surrounding blocks by using lease options, rehabbing cheap property, buying from "the landbank.org", that are setting on over 4000 properties. Investors in Michigan, check out these areas.
