Thank you to all those short sited, shallow, ignorant people that have no imagination, commonly referred to as naysayers.
Don't let negative comments, or naysayers bother you. Change your perspective and be motivated by them.
My whole attitude has changed about negative comments and naysayers. Now I laugh about negative comments, somehow it is funny when adults make these type of comments. Like a lil' kid that really has no idea what they are talking about. It really is funny.
Second is I feel a little bit sorry for them because of thier total ignorance. I found a way for them to motivate me. You see whenever a naysayer makes negative comments I feel sorry for them and they remind me that those are the kind of poeple I will be helping soon. The short sited, shallow, ignorant ones that have no imagination, commonly referred to as naysayers.
You have to prepare yourself for this perspective to work. It is really easy to feel this way when you believe. You have to make a decision. "Decide you will succeed no matter what". You will let nothing stop you and only you can stop you so making that decision handles that, because you won't.
I log in every day to this site and the wonderfully, great, positive people(DG family) completely blow away the negavative poeple in my life. It is so easy when you have the right kind of people in your life you can't help but succeed. It is up to you to put the right kind of people there like logging into the Dg family daily. Plan a time like a few minutes every morning when you get up to log in and start your day off on a postive note! Get up 15-30 minutes early. Do that and those negative comments etc seem weightless and sort of just float away. It really works. You will be smiling(maybe trying not to laugh) because you will be thinking how kid-like they are and you will be even more motivated because you know you will helping those kind of people improve thier lives.
It comes down to making that decision. Don't just think you will, don't just try or just hope. "KNOW" you will because of that decision!
It is up to you. No one can decide for you. They can't make up your mind or change your mind, only YOU can. So what is your choice????

Good post. It's funny you wrote this because I was just talking to a DG family member today and they mentioned some of the negative responses they have received. The way I see it everyone is entitled to their opinion and we can agree to disagree.
When we contacted our 1st REA (who we've known for years) he told us the umpteen reasons this couldn't/shouldn't/wouldn't work. We knew from this website & Dean's books otherwise. Then we met RE investors in our area who are doing it successfully and then were lucky to meet our partner/mentor who has his own success stories.
After we started taking action and started seeing positive results we quickly saw the need for what we do.
For some it is just to diffcult to step out of their comfort zone and try something different (fear of the unknown maybe?)
Anyway, thanks for the post.

It may sound a bit selfish, but the first thing I say to myself when I hear a "naysayer" is, "I don't EVER want to be like them or in their position in life; and I WON'T be. I've got too much going for me; my future is SO bright and FULL of positive potential!"
It's sad that people unfortunately ALLOW "Life" to beat them into submission so as to have such a negative outlook on things. I know there are more reasons why people are like that, but I'm just saying...
And then there are those who, as Dean describes in one of his books, are simply not qualified to tell you what works and what doesn't. Where I come from we have a saying when you find yourself in that scenario: "Keep it moving...!"
The difference between a person who succeeds and a person who fails is that the person who succeeds doesn't get discouraged and keeps on going... Had they not done that, they'd have failed also.
Hey Denny and Lee,
I agree, this is a great post!
Nice job Scott! Specifically I love this part: "You see whenever a naysayer makes negative comments I feel sorry for them and they remind me that those are the kind of poeple I will be helping soon.
I am looking forward to following how you help those naysayers, who before you know it, will be asking for your advice!
Angela
Love the post. It's a great way to look at the naysayers as many can be very close to you (family) and not so easy to get away from. Once you make the decision to succeed there really is nothing to stop you but yourself. I know that all too well. I'm greatful for all the support on this site and I've been using it more frequently, as Rina I'm beginning to have an addiction to it. Way to go Scott very good insight.

Lea, I agree it is a lot easier to stay motivated when you have a reason/purpose that is bigger than yourself. Don't get me wrong I still want my big toys like that big nice expensive boat I am going to own, but helping others is bigger than me and way more important.
AHB, It is not selfish at all. I agree I have the same thoughts that I don't want to be that person., and also how I am going to prove them wrong etc. Those were the kinds of thoughts I use to lways have. They seems somehow negative for me though. I want positive, so by deciding I will help those people and they will motivate me to get to where I can help them it is a positive win-win.
I like your saying "keep it moving". One thing to keep in mind is that we all get discouraged even those that are successful. The successful ones are the ones that "keep it moving".
Angela, Yes, I know some people don't know any better and hold themselves back. It is up to us to help those people out. So they should help us get to where we can help them....grin.
Cathy, it's all about the decision. I know you have made it. I am already celebrating your sucess!!!! Congratulations Cathy!!! Woohoo
