Hello all,
Have read Dean's "Be A Real Estate Millionaire" book and am very motivated to start doing this. I've looked into the Success Academy and spoken over the phone with some representatives, but when I ask what exactly comes along with the price for the course, I'm directed to websites of testimonials, etc. I can't seem to find any information that states exactly the level of help I should expect to receive.
I've watched many of the testimonials and don't get me wrong - they sound great, but I would also like to know that if I sign up for the coaching that it's going to be something that I couldn't get from just joining a local REI club and using the money elsewhere. I mean is it basically a "help line" that I call with questions? If so, don't these forums fill that void?
Please don't take this post as skepticism, because I don't mean it to sound that way - I just like to make informed decisions.
If any of you are members of the Success Academy or have received any coaching, I would very much appreciate some advice and/or input.

I like you spoke to some reps about the academy, the truth is that if you're organized and can follow directions and take action you can do it without joining the academy. It's a lot of info to take in so I would recommend taking notes that you get from people since i haven't found a way to bookmark the topics of interest...
By the way, the academy does have financing if money is the issue. I'm giving MYSELF a try, I think it would be more satisfying if i was able to complete a deal on my own (without the academy). If things get harder down the road then i may consider it; or just look around in here for some answers.

Needs some serious motivation...Should i contact agents with short sales or the sellers themselves, Have the address but only agent's number.
I have been in real estate for 12 years now and agree that real estate can be done completely on your own. I have done it on my own. The one thing that I would do differently if I could go back would be to get involved with coaching or an academy. I made mistakes I know I would have avoided earlier. I would have had someone pushing me along. I would have done more deals and made more money. In all I would be farther along.

I agree that it can be done on your own, but my reasoning for joining the academy is just that - I would prefer not to make mistakes that I could have avoided with an expert's advice.
Which brings me back to my question if there is anyone on here that has went through the academy and/or actively going through it and what kind of interaction do you get? Is it an active mentorship where you conference daily and are held accountable and expected to keep at your goals or is it more of a "call us if you have questions or get stuck" kinda deal?
I'm joining a local REI group, but believe I could benefit from the course as well. Someone give me some feedback please!
