I'm not sure if there is a setting on your printer, but a possible way around this would to be adjusting your line-height of your word document, assuming you're using Microsoft Word.
To do this, select everything (Ctrl + A) and right click. Go to "Paragraph...".
A box should come up, in the "Spacing" section make sure you change "After" from 10pt to 0pt. This will make sure that every line in your document is exactly the same height.
Then you should mess around with the "Line Spacing" drop down settings, try each setting and print it out, then see which one works. If neither of the preset options work then choose "Exactly" and change the "At:" number, the higher the number, the more space between each line.
Hope this helps!

This is so much simpler.
If you are doing yellow letters, which I assume is what you are doing, hand print very neatly your message on a white legal pad.
Get printer paper in the yellow color you want. Then copy your letter onto the yellow paper
Voila! No hassel with matching up lines!

Hi Karen, that is so much easier lol i wish i thought about that b4 buying a all my supplies lol, that WILL be done on the next round (got a feeling that i wont stop sending yellow letters any time soon)
and Dominic, am trying out the settings right now, will report what happens.
Irvin why would you want to do this anyway? Are you thinking that if you make some copies of a letter then fill in the address and owners name it will be faster and you wont have to write as much? I have a friend that tried that and he said that you could tell that one part was a copy and one part was added later. I hope it works for you but you might not like the way it looks.
Steve
Hey life, so tell me if i got this right.
from what Karen had said, just make an original letter and leave out the name and address. when i make a mass amount just fill in the blank in hand writing and put them in an envelope... did i get that right?
and my hand writing is very very sloppy lol so it would be obvious to tell. Did i get that right and if so is this still a good way to approche it ?
The point that you want your homeowner that reads it is that you're only focused on them to do business with instead of giving them the impression that the letter was mass-produced & they're only part of a list. Remember, you still have to convince them to call you, right?
Just make your letter (handprint the original) so that it can go to anyone but still sound personal. No blanks!

Guys! If you are going to do this on a large scale, you have to make it as simple as possible! You don't have time to be lining up lines on your copier and filling in all the blanks by hand!
Good luck!

So thats my current letter, what do you guys think? and plain yellow paper will still do the trick or legal pad style is the way to go?
okay its 1am and i have work at 7am lol i better get some sleep. Good night everyone, and thanks for any and all help !!!
Irvin are you sending these letters to buyers or to sellers? I think this yellow letter was set up only for sellers but I might be wrong. If you are doing it for Sellers and you make 100 copies of some thing and then you add something to it by hand it is going to look funny and you may not like it. I know it is a lot of work but I would just hand write the whole letter to the seller any way because you are not going to say that much in your letter. But it is your choice.
Hello Irvin
It sounds like you are set on the yellow letters since you have purchased some supplies. For my yellow letters I use small postcard sized yellow legal paper, handwritten with red ink. I also hand write the recipient's address. I use mailing labels for my return address (PO Box). Kind of time consuming but gives it a personal touch.
You might want to consider yellow cardstock postcards. You can get four on one sheet. The big office stores will print and cut them. You should be able to get about 400 postcards for about $21. I put two follow-up postcards and two initial postcards on each sheet. You'll save on postage using postcards and can get alot sent out in a short amount of time.
I can send you the postcard template. Send me a PM if you're interested.

The letter above is simular to the one Dean said to use to find CASH buyers in your area, right? I used one like that from Matt Larson and Dean(the book we read might be different) for cash buyers and each one was personalized with the buyers address and the property he just purchased and printed on white paper.
If you are using the "yellow paper" method for expired listings and vacant homes the wording is different.

Irvin,
I tried making my own letters and mail merging my addresses using this website as a guide. The Your fonts software is a one-time $9.95, but I cannot tell the difference in my handwriting and their font for me. They also give you a letter to use.
I print the letter out on my home printer. Sometimes the lines do not match up perfectly, but I still get a good response rate.
I am going to try Karen't idea and not use the lines to see what kind of response I get.

I still hand-write my yellow letters, because I only use them as a last resort when I can't find the seller any other way so I don't send many, but I know a few people that do mass-mailing campaigns who say the letter really doesn't matter. Yellow, white, rainbow, drunken (yes, there is one called the Drunken Letter)=/ They are all the same basic message. A motivated seller or buyer isn't going to care about color or wording. The trick is to get them to open the letter by making the envelope stand out from the pile of bills and junk mail in their box. If they chuck it in the trash unopened...it really didn't matter what color it was, letter or legal, typed or handwritten.
Use the invitation size envelopes, handwrite (no mailing labels) the sellers address and first name only, on the envelope. Write your return address without your name. Use cute stamps (no flags or Presidents, they look like bills)put on crooked like a little kid might do. For bonus curiosity drop in a mint to make the envelope puffy. Try to make the envelope stand out and be mysterious so anyone would HAVE TO open it. I get about 20% response
Good luck and happy mailing!

On my way of doing it, you still get the lines. You are writing the note on white paper that is lined and then when you make the copy (on colored printer paper), it also copies the lines. Looks exactly the same, just much easier.
