Okay everyone, it’s coming to the end of the first month of the new year. So let’s talk about safety. When you’re in real estate, safety never really is a concern. However, it is becoming more of a problem as we move forward in this stressed economy. Here are a few rules I like to remember while I am out working my business.
1. When going to look at properties always take a person with you. Someone to watch your back is always a good idea.
2. Always try to schedule your appointments during daylight hours, and regardless let people know where you are going.
3. Carry some kind of self-defense materials with you, ex. pepper spray, bear mace, etc….
4. Never ride in a car with someone you don’t know. If you go see a prop and they want to show you another, always take your own car and follow them.
5. Try to preview the property and neighborhood ahead of time, to get yourself familiar with the area.
Remember about your safety, often times we don’t hear too much about someone getting hurt in real estate but it does happen. Always protect yourself and the more knowledge you have about your area, property, seller, buyer, etc….. the better. I do advise you to have a partner in your business or at least someone to go with you on your outings.
Thanks,
Shah
I agree with Shah. Please be careful out there. This is some very wise sage advise. Always be aware of your surroundings.
