OfflineWhat is the best way to locate pre foreclosures? I notice a lot of them on Zillow, but is it ok for me to drive to the owner's home and make an offer? If so, would this be a good idea? Are there any risk factors?

I some times drive by and knock on the doors and explain that I'm a investor and seen that their house was listed on a pre foreclosures list from the city records, and just asked them if their interested in selling the house. Or you can just send a letter stating your intentions with a business card inside. I don't see how would there be a risk if you knock on someones door willing to help them out their situation. Just don't walk around someones property with out them knowing or being present and you should be fine.
