Have you read the books? What about spent time on here reading the forums?
The first thing you need to do is read, read, read. Then you will know enough to ask questions and to get started.
Good luck!

please forgive my lack of knowledge
When you say "The books" exactly what do you mean? I also did a three day seminar, but was ill during the first day, so I feel I'm disadvantaged. I am scouring these forum topics, and feel overwhelmed like Julia0810!

Dean has a number of books that he has written that really TEACH you how to do this business. They are excellent!
If you go to the top of this page and click on "DG Products" you will find most of them. I highly advise getting them and devouring them! You think you are excited NOW! Wait 'til you read the books!

Being uncomfortable
Like everything in life, RE investing is a process.
There are certain steps you must take in order for your business to grow and earn.
I understand the feeling of being uncomfortable about taking certain steps but if these steps are the path to your goal, how can you not take them? Thankfully, there are many ways to get to the end.
If you are not comfortable doing one scenario, you can always go another route. If you are not comfortable doing any of the next steps, maybe you should rethink your involvement in RE investing. It's like buying a gas powered car but not wanting to buy the gas for the car. It just won't work without it.
So if you are looking for a quick way of getting started, get Dean's new "30 days to Real Estate Cash" book. If you don't like that process, get Dean's other books so you can see the other ways to make your RE business a success. As I said, there is more than one way to make this work. You just have to be realistic as to your approach. The more open you are to change, variety, thinking "outside the box", etc., the better equipped you will be for this business.
Hope this helps...

Reading buddies
Hey Julia, I am about to start reading the same book here in a day or two. I am a property manager for an apartment complex in a small town in Elk City, Ok. I am originally from the Northern Va./Washington, DC area and have been in OK now for 4 years. I am a bit intimidate by this tiny place and I am not used to the lack of resources in a small town. But I am trying. I'd love to be "reading buddies" and encourage each other and discuss what we are reading. I also just started a new business in another area of health and fitness selling ItWorks" Body wraps and other products so I am very busy but very excited about getting started! I'm on geemail too if you dont see me here for a few days.
Thanks everybody for support.
