Know the Neighbors

As people move into real estate I find the eager to call buyers, find Realtors and look at properties.

They will run to a property checking the ceiling, floors, and under the sinks.

After searching the property they will travel home to calculate their offer price so that one of their buyers will be interested enough to purchase.

There was one item that was missed that can add a large value to understanding properties. This is that the neighbors should be contacted and spoken to. Go to their doors and knock on it. Ask those around a property about the property you are investigating. You will find that they can tell you a lot about the area, property and people that lived or are currently living there.

Also, letting the neighbors understand that you are purchasing may yield opportunity. They may know buyers, they may also watch out for the property for you and even direct you in your negotiations on the property.

Make it a part of your inspections that you speak with the neighbors and it can create some large opportunities for you as well.
