How to buy deceased owners homes...?!?

How to buy deceased owners homes...?!?

I am doing business in Nebraska. So, I have tried to search probate and nebraska together in google trying to find some search engine for these, and have come up with nothing. I'm starting to think maybe Nebraska does not do probates, but rather does something else, maybe some sort of trust thing. I ask this because Im rather interested in doing these sort of homes later on. I mean, there must be a simpler way than driving around all over creation looking for a lawn that hasn't been mowed in months!!
Does anyone have any insight?

RE: Probate

Jazon,

Funny you should mention probate! That is what I am currently doing...among many other things.

I live in a state where there is probate and just stumbled upon a tax lien that has some strange goings on. I reached the town office, where the property is located to find out more information.

Next step, this morning I am calling probate to see what the information is about the property.

You just need to contact the county clerks office to get more information on where to find the probate information you are looking for. One of the counties I deal with has a "Registry of Deeds" and I can find out all the information, history, ownership etc.

Good luck with your search!

Tax Assesor Office/ Couty Recorders Office

Try both of these places. You should find who the owners are and where the tax bills are being sent(tax assesor's office). Mail a letter to the address where the tax bills are going (more than likely a relative). I specialize in probate. I have access to owners info in any state and can tell you who the owners are and the mailing address, help you locate the heirs, etc. If you would like to partner up, PM me. Otherwise, check the above locations and you should find what your looking for. You can always ask the clerks office that handles probate to view the file and find the info there, if there has been a probate filing. Here in California the probate information is located at our Family Relations courthouse, and probate filings are with Superior Court. Hope this gives you a little guidance. Good luck.

Also...

Check your local newspaper under "legal notices" your will find court filig there. It will say something like "notice to creditors", or "notice to petition the estate of...",.or "notice to administer the estate of". If your just looking to find probates properties and are just getting started. You may also have other local small newspapers that post most legal notices. If you don't know ask your local newspaper and they will tell of the other smaller newspapers that also post legal notices.
