Not a Sprint but feeling left behind

Dean,
Thanks for this perspective, I so much want to let it sink in but feel like I'm letting that stinkin thinkin I've heard about trump it.

Being new I'm finding getting stuck too common, not sure where to start or go next. I feel and know in my being that I can do this however keep looking back over the shoulder or around and feeling like I've missed it.

I need some help getting on the right path in action and thinking. Help welcomed .... .... wanted

Pressure makes us sprint

shinton's picture

After talking to several people, I think we pressure ourselves into a sprint so we can get a little income going to pay the bills. Then it's easier to do the marathon, because we feel a little of the pressure is off. It's hard to remember and stay focused when those bills are due, but I know in the long run, we'll look back and see how it all came together.

Good Edge

Hey Dean I'll keep moving step be step in this marathon of real estate business and do everything to get to the dream of my life so thanks for your expertize and constant up lifting of weekly knowledge thanks.

Still in the race

When we set a time to accomplish a certain goal, it seem like when we are not moving as fast as we like it makes us feel that we are not in the race. I think more time, effort, and strategy will help us to stay along with the race or even get ahead of the race. Dean continue to teach and show us how to stay in the race of real estate. The more harder we go the more results we will see. I am still in the race!

When you sprint your fall is harder

I agree. I have to remember that sprinters run fast, but they also fall hard. So I must remember to keep a steady pace, watch out for the hidden stumbling blocks and hurdles until I get close to the the finished line, then adjust my speed as I reach my your goal. This race is a race between three important people: me, myself, and I to reach my personal goal. So, if I stumble or fall, it's up to me to reach out for help, and be willing to get back up and resume the race. Nice thing about it -- the DG team is there, first to get you fit and in shape for the race, but they are also in the back, the front and on the sidelines, cheering, encouraging, and giving the needed drink and nourishment by way of encouragement, direction, and information to help you continue in the race, and even to pick you up when you fall. But it's up to me - to follow their directions to the letter, and accept their help so that I can keep going, so if I should stumble or fall, it won't be so hard that I can't continue in the race.

I also like what Dean said about not changing yourself because you can't necessarily change your core person, not totally - not immediately. However you can learn to make better choices, change directions, and make improvements as needed in order to be the successful person you wish to be.

Thanks Dean, for this weeks good advice.

One step in front of the other, eyes straight ahead

It is a daily journey of little successes that seem to suddenly snowball, isn't it? Keep your eye on the goal. Know that you have what it takes and keep moving. Count your successes along with your blessings and be grateful.

Its only a marathon...

so take it one step or handcycle crank at a time!

Thanks Dean for the reminder as all of us who went to the EDGE are fired up about taking action fast!

Great Wisdom Dean

Your so right about that, it's not a sprint, this is a marathon. Some people tend to give up because they do not see the results they want to see over night. They need to pace their selves and set smalls goals to get them to the big goals. I understand this perfect.

Truth!

Why tip toe through live in hopes to make it safely to death? I made a cold hard decision that no matter what I will achieve freedom through real estate by committing to it for life.
This is not hobbie, we got this!

Thanks for the pep talk today, Dean. It was just what I needed to hear today. This morning, I was feeling a little overwhelmed and thus, was avoiding focusing on work today. I have my conference call with my Mentor tonight. Thanks for reminding me that even the smallest step forward is not standing still or taking a step back.

Greatly Appreciaited

Thanks a million Dean for such words of wisdom. I haven't done a deal as yet, I completed your 30 day book 2 weeks ago and is anxious to go forward. I will take everything in strides, one day at a time. For at times I over-burden myself and get discouraged. I will make a daily timetable to set aside at least an hour per day that I must put towards Real estate. I received my bandit signs shipment yesterday and I'm waiting for the stakes now. I'm trying now to build my buyers's list as I have to have that before I speak with motivated sellers. Are there any DG members in the New York-Brooklyn/Queens area? I would love to partner up with someone.
So, thanks again Dean as I look forward to live cast on Thursday. Take care.

Kevin

Thanks Dean

Overcoming Obstacles To See Vision Manifest~

Greetings Dean:
First, I must apologize for not taking the time to send my appreciation to you and your awesome staff and mentor's @ PMI Academy. We have a small team in Dayton, Ohio that joined your academy Dec 31, 2012 and have recently purchase the 30 Days Real-Estate Cash Book. As of January 2013, after joining your team it has been an amazing and exciting career change. It was the best decision that we have made. It is a process and a journey of success in all we have learned thus far. We currently have are Power Team in place with cash buyer investor's. As of this week we will viewing properties and running our numbers for contracts with these investor's. Due to the incredible training we have received we will soon see our vision manifest.I don't want to ramble, but the team and I feel that God has found favor with us by allowing us to be apart of the greatest R/E Investor in this country! Dean, you have put your System in place. A Blueprint that no one should fail. We are feeling the adrenaline as were coming closer to finalizing and closing deals this month. I was known as the Mortgage Guru in the Mortgage Brokerage Industry, but I'm determined to be the R/E Investor "Guru". I understand it will take time. So, as we sit, listen, and follow directions from our mentor's I'm sure we will join you @ the Edge 2014 to tell our Remarkable and Unbelievable Story on how we were able to join this network. So, we have paved the payment, spent many nights burning the midnight oil, only to realize that all of our hard work will soon pay off.

Again, thank you for your words of encouragement sent daily through e-mails, and the Weekly Wisdom. We appreciate the time and services rendered by PMI Academy.

We will see you next year @ the Edge 2014! Prayerfully, I will be @ the Top to tell my story!

Make It A Great Day~

Not A Sprint

Great Weekly Wisdom. Need to make a postit note and put up in several places as a daily reminder!

Marathon

I always like good information it is so tasteful to the palate of the neurological gray matter that helps us to grow to the point of achievement It's like you can see and feel the out come with endurance it'll all come together see yah at the finish line.

Each day...

"Remember...
this is a marathon, it's not a sprint.
Each day do a little something and
watch the huge results at the end"

Thanks - I'll remember that Dean!
